Bob Zurfluh Dies

Robert LaVern “Bob” Zurfluh, a resident of Carthage, Texas, died on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at the age of 66 in Tyler. Mr. Zurfluh served as NGS Geodetic State Advisor for Louisiana at the time of his retirement having served NGS and its predecessor, USC&GS for 40 years.
Bob Zurfluh was born June 25, 1943 in Haddam, Kansas the son of Robert and Bertha Cibolski Zurfluh. One of six children, he graduated from Haddam High School. Mr. Zurfluh later married Bobbie Jean Hunt on July 2, 1968, served in the US Army in Vietnam and was a life member of the VFW Post 5620.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Clifford Eugene Zurfluh. Survivors include his loving wife, Bobbie Zurfluh, of Carthage; twin sons, Rob Zurfluh and fiancé Elly, of Tyler and Rick Zurfluh and wife Janet, of Houston; brothers, Raymond Zurfluh and wife Delores, of Salina, Kansas and Lonnie K. Zurfluh and wife Cindy, of Florida; sisters, Bonnie Lewis, of Gaithersburg, MD and Deanna McAtee, of Washington, Kansas.
