Way back in 2003, Land Surveyor's Workshops’ president, Larry Phipps, had a novel idea: Why not teach continuing education classes for surveyors aboard a cruise ship? Teach quality, industry-relevant classes in the morning, and afternoon and party all night! How could that be a bad thing? In the spring of 2004, the inaugural cruise set sail for the Caribbean and has since become a wildly successful annual event. The cruise has taken surveyors to the exotic ports of Cozumel, Grand Cayman Island, St. Thomas, St. Martin, Costa Maya, San Juan and Ochio Rios, Jamaica. It’s a fun and affordable way to get continuing education credit and network with surveyors from around the country.
