National Grammar Day – March 4th

I noted on Dennis Baron’s go-to site for language, a blog I frequent and enjoy, that March 4th brings National Grammar Day! Does anybody care about National Grammar Day? Those care about parsing sentences correctly should visit the site: The Web of Language. It is an enjoyable site with much to read. He posted a tongue-in-cheek quiz today and the responses are great fun to read. Why not add your own?

Enjoy!

  1. Hey Tony,

The duo that I most enjoyed from Baron’s ten questions were:

    # Do we light candles on National Grammar Day, or do we light the wicks?
    # Is National Grammar Day a two-day holiday if I’m bilingual?

You’re right it is—in part—a list of behavioral definitions and, of course, linguistic spaghetti.

    Cheers,

    Ray

    1. I enjoyed his questions and left my responses on his blog. He always seems to find something fascinating to do with language.

      Thanks,
      Tony

  2. Here’s an amplification of where we are.
