I enjoyed reading Ms. Guler’s book, but that almost didn’t happen. Very quickly I realized the story was going to be told in a very definite feminine voice despite having the appearances of being a legendary style action story. I read a few paragraphs to my wife and we settled on the description that if a movie this was written as a “chick flick” set in an “action\/adventure movie”. Once I became accustomed to the voice the story was a good one, seasoned with Celtic names places and settings. While enjoyable (and stimulating for doing other reading on the Celts) I think it would have benefited from a more careful proofreading. There are more than a few awkward turns of phrase or poorly chosen words; just enough to distract one from the flow of the story and read for grammar instead for a while.I rated the book 3 stars. The grammar was worth half a star and the feminine voice that seemed more appropriate to a paperback romance was worth another half. It is a good story and I recommend it to the reader with those two cautions.
