I’ve never read one of the Cotton Malone books before and wished I had more of the background from the earlier ones. Cotton’s son’s curiosity about his grandfather kicks off the plot in which Cotton starts looking for info on his father all leading to something called the Charlemagne Pursuit. It is a nice looking book, but one I found a bit hard to finish; probably more due to my schedule than to the author’s skill. (
