BATON ROUGE – J. Anthony “Tony” Cavell of the LSU Center for Geoinformatics was recently elected a fellow of the National Society of Professional Surveyors, or NSPS, and American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, or ACSM, an honor reserved for less than one-half percent of the membership. Cavell currently serves as the NSPS governor from Louisiana, as secretary of the Board of Governors and on the NSPS Standards Committee. He is a past president of the Louisiana Society of Professional Surveyors.
